About IACX

About iacx energyIACX Energy was formed in December 2006 by the principals of Inter-American Corporation (Dallas, Texas) and Haddington Ventures, LLC (Houston, Texas) for the purpose of deploying a first-of-its-kind fleet of small-to-medium sized nitrogen rejection and CO2 removal assets into areas heretofore labeled by generations of gas Producers as being “uneconomic” due to nitrogen or CO2 contamination.  IACX brings an intriguing slate of upstream E&P and midstream expertise to Producers facing multiple issues involving the gathering, processing, treating and sale of nitrogen/CO2 laden gas.  IACX engineers have developed and deployed innovative PSA systems, specifically involving gaseous hydrocarbon separation from inert gases, which have led to nine patents and two pending.   Never satisfied with its own innovations, IACX principals have always and will continue to seek out new and better ways to simplify and economize its gas separation processes - to the ultimate benefit of our customers.   And if it is determined that the IACX processes are not suitable for a particular application, the Producer will be directed to any number of alternative processing candidates.  We want the Producer to succeed regardless of the vendor.

IACX’s equity sponsors, Haddington Ventures, bring considerable midstream expertise borne of years of company building and value creation.

Transportation?
Does your low-Btu gas project also require gathering, liquids recovery and/or compression?  IACX will set you up competitively!

Technology-Based Focus

IACX’s gas separation technology utilizes pressure swing adsorption (“PSA”), a decades-old process.  Because PSA is inherently scalable and works preferably at lower pressures (nitrogen rejection @ 35psia and CO2 removal @100psia), IACX is able to design and build its Nitrogen and CO2 SpongesTM for flow-rates as low as 500 MCF/Day or as high as 6,000 MCF/Day.  The scalability and wide operating ranges of the IACX technologies allows us to consider a wide array of projects in areas previously considered uneconomic.

IACX maintains a flexible approach to the deployment of our technology-based gas treating assets, and will consider any of the following projects.

  • Leasing of gas separation Systems
  • Joint ventures in high-nitrogen or CO2 projects
  • Acquisition of shut-in reserves contaminated with nitrogen or CO2 for cash, back-in interests or other consideration
  • Acquisition or building of gathering and processing assets handling low-Btu natural gas
IACX is an aggressive and opportunistic organization with a perspective unlike any other that you’ll find the midstream segment of the gas industry.  IACX respects and understands the hurdles and frustrations facing Producers, especially as it relates to more questionable gas flows (“is there enough here to warrant processing?”).  Our principals and financial partners are collectively comprised of a serious, dynamic mix of E&P, Midstream and Engineering professionals - if we can’t help you, we can assuredly tell you who can.
